Modern Trends in Education and Research on Mechanical Systems - Bridging Reliability, Quality and Tribology

Education, Engineering, Manufacturing and Construction, Humanities and Arts, Science, Services

The CEEPUS Network CIII-BG-0703 is the first and so far only one European academic network in the field of education and research in reliability, quality and tribology. The Joint Programs are a good tool for utilizing in unity the excellent and specific methods in the tribology domain of mechanical engineering elaborated by the individual partner institutions.

In the last decades, the tribological education in our region has improved significantly but its level is still different in the various countries. Obviously, there is a clear need to cooperate us for improvement of dissemination of knowledge and skills, as our network is good example in this respect. Similar collaborations are important since the development of well-educated engineering specialists benefits the traditions and good practices of the partner universities. In such way we can strengthen the position of CEE countries in engineering field, thus building up our industry and economy competitiveness and sustainability.

New teaching technologies and new applications in modernization of teaching at the Faculties of Technical Sciences in connection with the needs of small and medium enterprises in the environment

Education, Engineering, Manufacturing and Construction, Science

This project is focused on converging WBC engineering higher education with EU developments deriving from the EU higher education modernization agenda, through the improvement of the curricula and development of new and innovative engineering modules and courses that will build engineering skills in new technologies. The project goal is to improve the level of competencies and skills in WBC engineering graduates by redesigning and innovative engineering modules and courses related to new technologies to increase the relevance to the labor market needs. Building capacities concerning sharing equipment and teaching materials lead towards the modernization of higher education engineering education. The implementation of a Project-Oriented methodology will promote students to work on real engineering projects, thus building their skills and preparing them for better integration in the working environment.

Computer Aided Design of automated systems for assembling

Education

The project is important for the region and the working team has the necessary experience for its implementation. Some members of the team have participated in CEEPUS II projects and in the international Summer school "Advanced Manufacturing Operation" in Bulgaria. Also in the proposed project there is an Agreement on Cooperation between 17 Participation Units and joint activities with 23 Participation Units, as well as five Joint Programs in the field of Mechatronics, Robotics and Mechanical Engineering. These programs are of priority importance in the training of engineering specialists in the country and the region. The main task is to provide conditions for increasing the creativity of students, PhD students and teachers. The achievements in our network are related to the holding of Intensive Courses, Summer School, International Conferences, Workshop, Short Term Excursion with students and visits to industrial companies in our country, as well as the maintenance of the Network's.

Concurrent Product and Technology Development - Teaching, Research and Implementation of Joint Programs Oriented in Production and Industrial Engineering

Engineering, Manufacturing and Construction, Science, Services

One of the general planned mobility actions is successful concluding all of agreements between network partners signed and stamped by University authorities regarding academic cooperation between faculties in the frame of this network scientific publications.

It is important to note that in 2021 we have submitted joint degree for official accreditation, and we plan to start program in this academic year. This pilot study initially will be introduced by following partners in the network Croatian Catholic University and Pázmány Péter Catholic University. Project is supported by European Social Fund project “Development of a joint graduate study of software engineering at the Croatian Catholic University and the Pázmány Péter Catholic University in Budapest”.

RI-STEM student conference, due to reason that was largely successful it is planned in cooperation with Student association of Faculty of Engineering UNIRI in 2023.

Teaching and Research of Environment-oriented Technologies in Manufacturing

Education, Engineering, Manufacturing and Construction, Services

The program supports the regional cooperation on Environment-oriented Technologies in Manufacturing. The selected partner units have a high educational recognized standard and international visibility. They aim to promote green and digital transitions in education and training in line with the EU strategy that recently created Education for Climate Coalition.

Within the CEEPUS mobilities, by visiting the infrastructure of each university and meeting with local researchers and experts, new research ideas appear that facilitate the realization of international projects and scientific papers.

The practical results of the activities are reflected in the continuous improvement the study programs at all levels (bachelor, master, PhD), many projects with national and international financing and the number of books/scientific papers published.

The activities and objectives are updated every year according to the previous achievements and the requirements identified at all levels.

Technical Characteristics Researching of Modern Products in Machine Industry with the Purpose of Improvement Their Market Characteristics and Better Placement on the Market

Education, Engineering, Manufacturing and Construction, Humanities and Arts, Science, Services, Social sciences, Business and Law

Mobility actions of this network will obtain exchanging information, knowledge and experience, participating in the common research projects and other activities, assisting with work on M.Sc. and PhD thesis, laboratory work, and at the same time introducing joint programs between institutions. In cooperation with network partners, I will organize lectures, seminars, summer courses and scientific conferences and workshops. Mobilities are planned for undergraduate students, PhD students and teachers.

Each particular activity will be conducted with the aim to develop and improve the technical and market characteristics of different products in the machine industry.

A silent partner is included. It is a Factory of rolling bearings and cardans and they will help us as an industrial partner. We expect good cooperation and help during visiting incoming students and teachers. The factory possesses its measurement laboratory and it will be of great help for research and experiments.

Research and Development of New Technologies for Innovative Services in Sustainable Logistics 4.0

Education, Engineering, Manufacturing and Construction, Services

The activities are focused on the research of new technologies required to support the development of logistics in a sustainable way towards its integration in 4.0 environment.

The mobilities will be used to exchange information, knowledge and experience, participate in the common research projects, conferences, courses and other network activities and events. These mobilities will assist and help with work on M.Sc. and PhD thesis, laboratory work, and at the same time introducing joint activities between institutions. In cooperation with network partners.

Mechanical engineering will primarily comprehend research, development and design of production and logistic systems in the Industry 4.0 environment, including 3D virtual manufacturing. Rapid prototyping plays a considerable role here, as it allows for customization, reduces waste - by printing only what is needed - and permits printing where and when parts are needed. In this way, the shipping costs and time to market are reduced.
