Undergraduate academic studies

Undergraduate academic studies are a set of core and elective courses whose completion provides the necessary academic knowledge and skills for acquiring a certain academic degree. The total involvement of students in completing the study programs of undergraduate academic studies consists of active teaching (lectures, tutorials, other forms of active teaching), independent work, mid-term tests, exams and professional practice.

Undergraduate academic studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Niš belong to the domain of engineering sciences and technology, fall under the scientific and professional field of mechanical engineering, and are organized within two study programs:

  • Mechanical Engineering – which grants the academic degree of Bachelor with Honours in Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc. (Hons))
  • Engineering Management – which grants the academic degree of Bachelor with Honours in Engineering Management (B.Sc. (Hons)).

By acquiring fundamental knowledge, developing skills and forming opinions within the field of mechanical engineering, a student obtains the necessary social competence for the future working process. The knowledge and skills acquired by completing the study program of undergraduate academic studies provide students with the opportunity to continue education and direct them towards conducting research within the domains of engineering sciences and technology, interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary sciences.
