Sharing Ideas and Building Connections in Podgorica

From 7 to 12 September, representatives of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Niš took part in the CIRC4WB project in Podgorica, Montenegro. The project was supported by the DAAD through the programme “Higher Education Dialogue with the Western Balkans.”

The event brought together students and lecturers from five countries. Our partners included the University of Montenegro, the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy – Sofia, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, and the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau, which was also well represented.

Throughout the week, we worked in international teams on topics such as plastics recycling and renewable energy systems. An important part of the programme was the PRO and CONS dialogues, which gave us the chance to consider different sides of each topic, share our views, and learn from one another. The activities were challenging at times, but they also led to many interesting discussions and fresh ideas.

For the team from Niš, this was much more than an academic event. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, strengthen cooperation with our partner universities, form new friendships, and bring people together across borders in the Balkans. The excellent organisation and friendly atmosphere made the entire week a truly enjoyable experience.

We are especially pleased that the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau has already prepared a new project proposal for next year. If it is successful—as we strongly believe it will be—we look forward to meeting again, continuing our cooperation, and creating many more valuable experiences together.
