We invite you to participate in this year’s XV International Scientific-expert Conference on Railway RAILCON ’12 that has been traditionally organized by Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Niš, Serbia. Although we have had participants from abroad so far, this year, for the first time, the Conference RAILCON gains the international character in the formal sense. It involves the use of English as the language of official communication.

The Conference RAILCON ’12 is an opportunity for exchanging opinions, experiences and knowledge between researchers, scientists, experts, managers, political representatives, customers, suppliers and others who are in some way connected with Railway.

The topics that will be considered during the Conference include rolling stock, traffic, infrastructure, maintenance, informatics, economics, politics and other aspects related to Railway. Considering the interdisciplinary character of Railway techniques we expect participation of experts of different profiles.

During the Conference RAILCON ’12 a specialized exhibition and marketing presentations will be organized for potential exhibitors that want to present their products and plans to the Conference participants.

In recent years, the overall development has been faced with a lack of energy, environmental threats to the planet and the global economic crisis. A more efficient rail transport can contribute in overcoming these problems. This Conference should promote the railway which provides an effective and sustainable mobility. We are confident that this can be achieved by joint efforts of the railway industry, railway operators, developing institutes and universities.

We expect you in October in Niš to participate actively in the work of the Conference.
