About the Department

The Department of Mechanical Constructions, Development, and Engineering is one of the oldest departments at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Niš. It was established in 1973 under the name Department of Mechanical Constructions.

The Department provides students with the knowledge and skills required for work in interdisciplinary teams in the fields of engineering design, product development, innovation, research and other areas related to the development of modern mechanical systems and products.

Teaching Activities

Members of the Department participate in teaching at undergraduate, master and doctoral levels. Teaching activities cover fundamental and advanced topics related to mechanical elements, machine design, product development, engineering systems and engineering design methods.

Special attention is devoted to combining theoretical and methodological knowledge with practical engineering work and student development projects.

The Department has a long tradition of cooperation with universities, research institutes and corresponding departments in Serbia and abroad. International cooperation includes activities in product development, engineering design, mechanical systems and related research fields.

Through international projects and academic cooperation, the Department has also contributed to the development and implementation of modern educational approaches in engineering design and product development.
