About the Department

The Department of Production and Information Technologies was established in 1966 as the Department of Machining and Machine Tools. From its early years, the Department developed strong teaching and research activities in the field of manufacturing engineering and manufacturing technologies.

Over time, its activities expanded to cover modern manufacturing systems, information and communication technologies and other areas essential for contemporary industrial production.

Teaching Activities

The Department participates in teaching at undergraduate, master and doctoral levels, providing students with knowledge and practical skills in manufacturing technologies, production systems and information technologies.

The Department is also active in the development and application of additive manufacturing, reverse engineering, intelligent manufacturing systems, biomedical engineering, virtual and augmented reality, and computer-supported methods for product and process development.
